One lesson that was encouraged to be replicated in combating this virus was the regular washing of hands with soap. However, those who were using the wheelchair found themselves having a tough time doing so, as basins in public toilets were not correctly situated for them.

Due to the state of their disabilities it was not easy to engage in piece jobs that would see them earn money to put food on the table. most of these people have little or no education at all that would see them earn jobs that would not demand physical power to execute their duties.

FAMOD has been able to advocate at the level of the UN agencies and partners for more inclusive interventions for persons with disabilities in Mozambique.
